Man climbs to top of radio tower
Happening now
man on tower 1

The Hinesville Fire Department and Police Department are at an active situation where a man was found to have climbed to the top of the WGML radio tower in the 300 block of Rolland Street this morning.

As of now it is unclear why the man climbed the tower or what his intention might be. The tower is estimated to be nearly 400 feet tall.

The Bradwell Institute parking lot adjacent to the radio station has been sealed off, however students are able to attend class. The Hinesville Fire Department has brought its ladder truck in an attempt to reach the man who at times began swinging from the top of the tower.

A police officer has been talking to the man via bull horn in an effort to help the man climb down.  The man’s mother is on scene.
