April is Earth Month and April 22nd is the International Earth Day. The whole month of April is a great time to look for ways to take care of the Earth. On Wednesday, April 3rd the McDonalds on the corner of Highway 84 and M.L. King Jr Dr. in Hinesville Georgia, partnered with Keep Liberty Beautiful in a combined campaign called “Saving the Earth one sip at a time.”

This campaign was spearheaded by Ashely Dodd, Owner/Operator of McDonalds in Hinesville. The Pop up Giveaway was a fun way to share information on McDonalds eco-friendly change in their cups and Keep Liberty Beautiful to share information on reusable straws and the upcoming Earth Day Celebration 2019.

The first 100 customers that brought a McDonald’s large Ice Tea or Soft drink received a large cup sleeve and a Keep Liberty Beautiful reusable rubber straw with case. This collaboration came about due to the fact McDonald’s over the past few months switched their large Styrofoam cups to large paper ones. At the same time KLB was looking for another plastic straw alternative that would also motivate people to carry their straws with them.

“I care about the environment and our children’s future,” said Ashely Dodd, Owner/Operator of McDonalds in Hinesville. “So to me it’s important to leave our earth a better place than how we found it.” When asked why should businesses be more eco-friendly, Ashely Dodd answered, “Businesses who serve people, have the avenue to spread knowledge and should do that every chance they get.”
