A late Wednesday night fire has displaced two people who lived on the 4500 block of Lewis Frasier Road.

According to Liberty County Fire Service Chief Brian Darby, the fire was reported to the Liberty County 911 center shortly after 10:30 p.m.

When fire units from Liberty County Fire Services, Midway Volunteer Fire and Rescue, and the Georgia Department of Corrections Firefighters arrived, the home had sustained fire damage to the kitchen and living room area and was quickly put out.

Darby said the fire caused structural damage to the home when cross supports where charred by the flames, rendering the home unlivable.

The rest of the home sustained smoke damage. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this at time. A woman and 13 year old boy have been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
