Hinesville Mayor Pro Tem Charles Frasier recently signed a proclamation establishing Sept. 18 as National Prisoners of War-Missing In Action Recognition Day, alongside members of Vietnam Veterans of America. Joining Frasier were local chapter Vice President Paul Spence, chapter President Jimmy Waynick and event coordinator Dennis Fitzgerald. POW-MIA Recognition Day will be observed Sept. 18 at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Fort Stewart Museum. Brig. Gen. Thomas Vandal will speak.
