Vehicles from the 3rd Infantry Division will convoy from Fort Stewart to Hunter Army Airfield late tonight.
Motorists are advised to travel with caution approaching and near the military vehicle convoy expected to take place to begin at 11 p.m. Thirteen military vehicles, including several Heavy Equipment Transport (HET) trucks and trailers loaded with armored vehicles, will convoy along Georgia highway 144 east, I-95 north, I-16 east, and I-516 east to Hunter Army Airfield’s Montgomery Gate.
The convoy will travel at interstate-minimum speeds, stay in the right-most lanes when possible, and all vehicles will be marked with flashing amber warning lights. Motorists are advised to approach and pass the convoy with caution.
The convoy is a 3rd ID readiness exercise. This is the first time in several years that HETs with armored vehicle loads have moved from Stewart to Hunter.
