Female soldier dies in Iraq

The Department of Defense announced over the weekend the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Mary J. Jaenichen, 20, of Temecula, Calif., died May 9 in Iskandariyah, Iraq, of a non-combat related injury.  She was assigned to the Brigade Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division.  Jaenichen was a military police officer.  She joined the Army in June 2006 and arrived at Fort Stewart in January 2007.
The incident is under investigation.
