The public is invited to visit area military cemeteries with the Fort Stewart Historic Communities Council semiannual meeting and spring cemetery visit on April 20.

Visitors will see Liberty Chapel, Green Bay, Cypress Slash and Trinity cemeteries and have the opportunity to eat lunch at an installation dining facility. The cash-only lunch is $5.55, and exact change will be needed.

Participants can meet at the following times and locations:

-          From 8-8:45 a.m. at the installation's Pass and Permit Office, building 8093, on Highway 144

-          From 7:30-8:15 a.m. at the Liberty County Recreation Area/Hinesville National Guard parking lot on Highway 84.

Buses will be at both locations and will link up at the Pass and Permit site at 8:45 a.m. before departing.  The tour starts at 9 a.m.

The installation's directorate of Public Works, Environmental, Cultural Awareness and Forestry Departments will be on-hand to provide information regarding the cemeteries.

Dress comfortably, preferably in layers, with comfortable shoes, and a hat or other sun protection. Bottled water and insect repellent are also suggested.  Comfort stations will be located throughout the tour.
