General gets his second star

A former Fort Stewart officer and West Point instructor is getting a second star in his job as commander of the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk, Ky.
Daniel P. Bolger has been promoted to the rank of major general. He assumed command of the JRTC and Fort Polk in August 2006.
The two-star general will remain in command at Fort Polk for the foreseeable future, according to press release issued by base spokesman Dan Nance.
He served as a platoon leader, company executive officer, battalion S-4, and rifle company commander at Fort Stewart. He went on to teach history at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
