Kingston hears mental health issues

U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston visited Fraser Counseling Center Friday to hear about mental health issues faced by soldiers and their famiiies.

Center Director Dr. Alan Baroody and his staff talked about the toll the war and Iraq is having on military members and their families are facing.

The 3rd Infantry Division has been deployed to Iraq three times in recent years.. 

Kingston visited Hinesville on Friday morning between stops in Richmond Hill and Savannah.

Rahn completes basic training

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Cameron C. Rahn graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Rahn is the son of Angel Smith of Midway and a 2017 graduate of Liberty County High School in Midway.
