The Long County Veteran’s Memorial committee has plans for another engraving to the memorial in Ludowici’s Friendship Park.
The marble monument was dedicated Sept. 14, 2013, after three years of planning and fundraising. It has areas designated for veterans from World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.
There is an area for honorably discharged service members who served during peace time. A stone in the center is for veterans who were killed in action, prisoners of war or are missing in action.
Anyone interested in having a name engraved can get an application at The Heritage Bank in Ludowici. For more information, call Marvin DeLoach at 545-2706 or Gaynell Garrison at 545-2606.
