Minor found deceased on Fort Stewart

A deceased minor was discovered this morning in on-post housing.  The minor is a Soldier's family member.

The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command is investigating the death.  According to CID Special Agents, they do not suspect foul play at this time, but are not completely ruling it out at this point in the investigation to ensure a complete and thorough death investigation is conducted.

To protect the integrity of the investigation, no further information will be released at this time. 

The installation's thoughts and prayers are with the minor's family.

The incident is in no way connected to the on-going civilian prosecutions in Long andLibertycounties.

Rahn completes basic training

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Cameron C. Rahn graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Rahn is the son of Angel Smith of Midway and a 2017 graduate of Liberty County High School in Midway.
