Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield and the 3rd Infantry Division marked Ready Army Community Awareness Week with a proclamation signing ceremony at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fort Stewart Post Exchange.
The Army and Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield made emergency preparedness a priority with the introduction of Ready Army, a public awareness and education program to ensure everyone in the Army community, including neighbors in Southeast Georgia, maintains a basic level of preparedness for all potential hazards.
Everyone is encouraged to "get a kit, make a plan, and be informed."
The Army's event coincides with the Department of Homeland Security's National Preparedness Month.
