Fort Stewart’s Warrior Transition Battalion got a new commander during a change of command ceremony Friday morning at Marne Garden. Outgoing commander Lt. Col. Rose Deck turned over command to Lt. Col. Michael Boyle.Col. Kirk Eggleston, commander of Winn Army Community Hospital and U.S. Army Medical Command for Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield, served as the reviewing officer for the ceremony. Soldiers representing all four companies that make up the WTB took part in the ceremony.

Rahn completes basic training

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Cameron C. Rahn graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Rahn is the son of Angel Smith of Midway and a 2017 graduate of Liberty County High School in Midway.
