Fort Stewart Public Affairs released the following announcement about an upcoming exercise:
Sometime during the week of August 24-28, Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will conduct our annual Emergency Response Exercise, Stewart Guardian. This exercise is required by Army and DoD Regulation and will test our ability to respond to events which could happen here.
You may hear announcements or warning sirens over our Emergency Warning System and Emergency Services sirens on vehicles. As a result of the exercise, you may experience delays at gates and facilities, or be asked to remain indoors until the all clear is given. Please follow the instructions given over the public address system or in the building or activity in which you are located.
For the exercise, we will use all forms of communication which include, but are not limited to the Team Stewart website, Social Media, and the Early Warning System. All exercise announcements will be prefaced with "EXERCISE-EXERCISE-EXERCISE”. At any time if you hear any announcements that do not begin with “EXERCISE-EXERCISE-EXERCISE”, it is a real announcement and you must respond to the instructions.
Please be patient while we conduct this exercise which is a vital piece of maintaining our readiness and contributes to the overall safety of our Army Community.
