A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday evening when he was struck by a passenger vehicle.

According to GSP Trooper Lyle Thurmond, the motorcyclist was heading eastbound on E. G. Miles Parkway in the direction of Hinesville shortly before 7 p.m.

As the motorcyclist was approaching the intersection of E.G. Miles and Airport Road in Liberty County, the cyclist had the green light when a Dodge Charger heading westbound attempted to make a left turn onto Airport Road. The cyclist struck the Charger.

CPR was performed on the cyclist, who was transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) has been called in to investigate the accident.
