A motorist allegedly driving under the influence was not having a good day while cruising  around Hinesville Tuesday afternoon according to Hinesville Police Department Traffic Investigator, Richard Boucher.

Boucher said the motorists was involved in a hit and run accident in the main Walmart parking lot when he allegedly backed up into a Ford F-250 pickup truck which had a towing hitch on it around 3 p.m.  The accident left a perfect square hole in the bumper of the suspects vehicle.  A sharp eyed Hinesville patrolman spotted the vehicle on Memorial Drive and East Oglethorpe matching the description of the vehicle involved in the hit and run at Walmart down to the telltale imprint from the Ford F-250 on the rear bumper.  The officer initiated a traffics stop in the center lane of East Oglethorpe stopping the vehicle.  For some unknown reason the suspect put his vehicle in reverse and slammed into the patrol car causing a second accident.  The man was arrested at the scene and charged with DUI.  The incident is still under investigation according to Boucher.
