The Liberty County NAACP announced Monday it is cancelling its general membership meeting set for April 6 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here’s the release:

“On Monday March 23, 2020, Governor Kemp expanded upon his State of Emergency Declaration to issue an executive order closing all gatherings of 10 or more people unless a distance of 6 feet can be maintained. This is part of Georgia’s coronavirus COVID – 19 response.

“As a result of this executive order, the General Membership Meeting previously scheduled for Monday, April 6, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. has been cancelled. It will not be rescheduled.

“All citizens are asked to adhere to safety guidelines in these most important steps to stop the spread of this virus.”
