More than five years after Liberty County expressed the need for an updated facility, plans for a new building that will house the Department of Family and Child Services is on track, according to County Administrator Joey Brown. Construction of the new building, which will provide more space for staff to effectively meet the needs of the community, is expected to begin in June and will take about eight months, Brown said.
