Coastal Georgia Minority Chamber of Commerce CEO Sabrina Newby was selected to serve as the Georgia Democratic party’s 1st congressional district economic development vice chairwoman, according to a press release.

Newby was selected by Lisa Ring on Nov. 10. Ring, of Richmond HIll, is running for Congress as a Democrat. Ring is chairwoman of the 1st congressional district’s economic development committee. Georgia’s 1st congressional district includes 17 counties along the coast - to include Bryan, Chatham, Glynn,  Liberty and Wayne counties.

Newby will work with each county’s Democratic committee to broaden its economic development, according to the press release.

“Economic development is more than infrastructure and business,” she said. “Today’s economic development encompasses a newness that includes the way we think, create, and influence.  Logically visualizing viable growth potential is essential when creating an upturn. I look forward to serving  the district while introducing that newness and strategizing to help implement an economic win for the counties and their residents.”
