Liberty Board of Elections to meet

The Liberty County Board of Elections will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 6 at the historic courthouse, 100 Main Street, Hinesville. 


Political forums set for Thursdays 

The Liberty County NAACP, the Coastal Georgia Minority Chamber, Inc., and the Coastal Courier are holding a series of political forum Zoom events beginning Thursday, May 7. A second forum will be held May 14 and a third one on May 21. All are from 6 to 9 p.m. 

The forums will be livestreamed on the Liberty County NAACP Facebook page @LibertyNAACP. It is free, nonpartisan and the public is invited to attend. See forum schedule on page 12. Submit questions by May 6 to secretaryliberynaacp@gmail.com or editor@coastalcourier.com. 


Schedule set for Candidate forums

The schedule has been set for a series of political forums hosted by the Liberty County National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Coastal Georgia Minority Chamber, Inc., and the Coastal Courier.

The forums are scheduled to run from 6 to 9 p.m. and will be live streamed on the Liberty County NAACP Faceboo page @LibertyNAACP.

It is free and the public is encouraged to participate. Submit questions by May 6 to secretaryliberynaacp@gmail.com or editor@coastalcourier.com.

National Day of Prayer

The United Ministeral Alliance of Liberty County is holding a drive-through Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 7 at 11:30 a.m. in the roundabout at the intersection of Main Street and Memorial Drive in Hinesville.

This is the 69th annual National Day of Prayer. 

In its announcement, the UMA said, “Pastors throughout Liberty County will lead us as we pray for the local community, our soldiers, and our nation. Roll down your windows, honk your horns, and let the world know that we’re united in prayer. We can’t gather, but we can pray.”


LCCVB board meeting

The Liberty County Convention & Visitors Bureau (LCCVB) will host its bi-monthly board meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 4:00 p.m., via ZOOM, at the Historic Bacon Fraser House located at 208 East Court Street Hinesville, GA.

The meeting purpose is to make decisions, discuss previous events, go over the agenda, plan and evaluate future events, promotions, and solve any problems.
