Maj. Gen. Christopher Norrie will be the next commander of the 3rd Infantry Division and Fort Stewart, according to the Department of the Army.

Norrie is the director of People First Task Force, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1. Previously, he was commanding general of the 7th Army Training Command, U.S. Army Europe-Africa, in Germany.

Norrie was promoted to brigadier general in December 2019 and promoted to major general in August 2022
