One of three people accused in the 2023 shooting of a Hinesville man was found not guilty after a four-day trial in late November in Liberty County Superior Court. Jaquaves Pittman was found not guilty on all six charges, including two counts of felony murder and one count of malice murder, in the September 12, 2023 shooting death of Jaylin Ferrell.

Two others charged in the incident have begun serving their sentences, with one serving a life term in prison.

Jalijah Pittman pled guilty in October to one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault. He will serve 20 years in prison and 20 years of probation.

Sirenity Hagan pled guilty in 2024 to one count of felony murder and was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole. A 10year sentence for conspiracy to commit armed robbery will run concurrently with the life sentence, and a charge of aggravated assault was merged with the murder conviction.

She is incarcerated at the McRae Women’s Facility.

Hagan and the Pittmans were indicted on February 20, 2024 and charged with one count of malice murder, two counts of felony murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
