One person has been displaced Monday afternoon after their home on the 200 block of Spencer Gaulden Road was destroyed by a fire.

According to Liberty County Fire Services Chief, Brian Darby, fire units were dispatched approximately at 1:23 p.m. to a reported structure fire. Darby said when firefighters arrived the single-story home was fully engulfed in flames.

Darby said no one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. The American Red Cross has been called in and is assisting the homeowner. Mutual Aid was requested from the Hinesville Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
