DNR sets hearing on hunting, fishing

BRUNSWICK — The Coastal Resources Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources will host a public hearing on proposed amendments to the Rules of Georgia Department of Natural Resources/Coastal Resources Division, Chapter 391-2-4, Saltwater Fishing Regulations and Wildlife Resources Division, Chapter 391-4-3, Fishing Regulations.

The proposed amendments will create commercial fishing species endorsements, modify the definition of a seafood dealer, and create a definition for landing. The proposal will also revise reporting requirements for commercial fishers and seafood dealers.

A public hearing on the proposed amendments is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 20, at the Coastal Regional Headquarters of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources in Brunswick.

Written public comments are also welcome and should be legible, concise and limited to the proposed rule change. To ensure their consideration, written comments must be received by close of business on Oct. 2. Following the comment period, The Board of Natural Resources will consider the proposed rule on Oct. 25, at 9 a.m. at its Board Room at 2 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, SE, Suite 1252, Atlanta, Georgia.
