Well friends, fall weather is upon us, and I just love it.  
There are some reports from around our area, and it looks like the fish are biting.  Here we go:
• Olin Frasier — who was fishing with his son, Morgan, around Saint Catherines Island — said they caught big reds until they were wore out. They had nine catch-and-releases. My friends, those are the big daddys.
• Down around Two Way Fish Camp, Cricket said that Capt. Mike Evans and crew caught a variety of bass and trout; all were nice size. Capt. Mike Chanclor and party landed some nice gator trout and several big red. Capt. Wendell Harper and party caught the limit on trout and limit on spottail dockside. James Bolinger and Carl Evans, fishing with Cricket, caught the limit on trout and bass.
So friends, looks like the fish are biting. It’s time to put that boat in — or call a friend who has a boat and put that one in — and get out there and wet a hook. You will be glad you did.

• Two Way has live shrimp.
• Half Moon Marina has live shrimp.  
• Rayburn at Yellow Bluff has live shrimp and minnows
• Midway Feed and Supply has fresh and salt water bait.  
So get out there on the water, but remember: safety first.
Well folks. I would like a moment to remember a fellow who truly loved the saltwater and being on the coast: my old friend, Larry Wells. I always called him simply “Wells.” I would like to think that Wells is up there in Heaven with Old Tight Line and Mrs. Kitty on that big river in the sky, telling fishing stories. Wells always was known for his great one-liners. Wells coined the phrase “It don’t take long to spend the whole night at the coast.”  Larry, my friend, you will be missed. Mrs. Neal and the Wells family will be in my prayers.
Remember what Ol’ Tight Line always said: “Get out there and go fishing, and if you do, remember to keep a tight line.”
