Local waters teeming with fish

Hello, folks. Tight Line Jr. here. Ole’ Tight Line says hello to everyone.

I’ve got a few fishing reports to share from around the coast and Big Rudy at Sunbury Country Store.

"Hot Rod" Hall was fishing with Nat Branson and Capt. Jake Horton and landed 25 trout, two black drum and 10 whiting.

Red Davis, Larry Gaddy and Mr. Gaddy caught a nice mess of gator trout and six large croakers. Michael and Leland Brooker caught their limit of trout and they said it only took them one hour.

Rusty and Janie Carter were fishing with Allison and James Wilson and hauled in 20 spot tail bass, 25 whiting, four sheepsheads and six black drum. Now that is a good day.

Boo Hall and I hit the dock tour, netting two sheepshead, four croaker, two flounder and three black sea bass. We are stocking up our freezer with them.

I’d like to take a second here and thank the people for coming out to the Sunbury Crab Company for the Kiss-A-Pig event May 23.

Yellow Bluff has live shrimp and minnows. The boys at Sunbury Crab Company have live minnows and fresh refrigerated bait.

Well friends, remember what Ole’ Tight Line says and get out there and get fishing. And if you do, always remember to keep a tight line. I always say hit the docks, keep a sharp eye and watch that cork go down.

Your buddy,

Tight Line, Jr.

P.S. I would like to say goodbye to a great fisherman and a good man, Mr. Steve Olge.
