Parks trail-running series planned

ATLANTA — Dirty Spokes Productions is sponsoring a Georgia State Parks trail-running series throughout 2013.  
Runners will explore trails at four state parks and earn points for awards. Registration fees range from $25 to $45 and include chip timing, “dry-fit” shirts, post-race recovery drinks and fruit.
The trail running series covers four state parks in the northern part of Georgia:
Aug. 3, Red Top Mountain State Park in Cartersville, 9.9/3.1-mile trail run
Sept. 7, Unicoi State Park in Helen, 10K/5K trail run  
Oct. 12, Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, 8.55K/3.45K trail run
Dec. 7, Victoria Bryant State Park near Lavonia, 10K/5K trail run  
Competitors will race along some of Georgia’s most scenic trails, with views of lakes, mountains and streams.  To register and learn more, go to www.dirtyspokes.com.
