CLAXTON - Keith Barnard, president of The Evans County Wildlife Club, announced that the 41st annual Rattlesnake Roundup Festival will be Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9, in the Claxton-Evans Industrial Park on Highway 280 West in Claxton.
The family festival gates open at 8 a.m. on March 8. The weekend kicks off with a parade that morning at 10. Other events Saturday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. include various entertainment and musical acts and the crowning of "Queen Rattlesnake Roundup 2008" at 3 p.m. Over 200 arts and crafts booths will be on site as well as rides for the kids.
Festivities continue on March 9 at 10 a.m.
Admission is $5 per person 6 and older each day. Younger kids get in free. Parking is free.
