The city of Hinesville will host its first 5K run/walk to benefit mental-health patients and build awareness at 8 a.m. Saturday in downtown Hinesville’s Bradwell Park.
The 5K is part of the “Healthy Hinesville” initiative to encourage healthy lifestyles and total wellness for area residents.
“In considering health and wellness, mental health is often forgotten,” said Hinesville public-relations manager Krystal Hart. “We want to remind everyone of total wellness issues facing us today, and that includes mental health.”
The run will begin and end on Main Street. Registration and awards will be hosted in Bradwell Park. The cost of registration is $30. Groups of five or more can register for $15 each. All proceeds benefit patients in local mental-health hospitals.
