Tybee Island and the American Legion Tybee Post 154 will host its inaugural Tybee Salutes Heroes 2014, a weekend for active and retired military families Friday-Sunday.

Activities include a welcome breakfast for military families will be from 8-11 a.m. Saturday at American Legion Tybee Post 154. The Tybee Salutes Heroes Parade will start at 1 p.m. Saturday, followed by a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial at Memorial Park and a celebration at Post 154 — featuring complimentary food, entertainment, children’s activities and a cash bar — from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
