Panel reports early Census numbers

The Liberty County Complete Count Committee recently reported initial Census-participation figures. According to the Census Bureau’s March 30 report, 50 percent of Liberty County residents have returned their Census forms.   
Liberty County 2010 Census Coordinator Kathy Poole said the numbers are strong, considering it’s still early in the process. “The Census Bureau is updating the numbers daily, and I’m confident our numbers will continue to be strong,” she said.

“As you can see, we’ve still got work to do,” Poole said. “Please continue to encourage family, friends and neighbors to complete and return their 2010 Census forms. If you come across someone who didn’t receive a Census form, please direct them to one of the many sites throughout the county that have forms.”
