Fort Stewart and other local law enforcement agencies responded to an incident on the post Monday afternoon that led to a brief shelter in place order.

Agencies were on the scene after a soldier was reported to be in distress in an Ardennes Court residence on the post. Fort Stewart officials said the situation was contained quickly without any injuries.

Fort Stewart officials issued a shelter in place late Monday afternoon but that order was lifted within the hour.
