An altercation between two men Monday morning sent one to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

According to Hinesville police Detective Jeff Lui, the shooting took place shortly before 2 a.m. at a residence in the 400 Block of Norwood Street in Hinesville.

Lui said Anthony Andrews, 36, his girlfriend and possibly a child were at the home, when Brandon Williams, 22, and a friend came over. Williams entered and reportedly got into an argument with Andrews. It eventually came to blows. At one point, Lui said, Williams pulled a handgun, and the men struggled over the weapon. It discharged once, striking Williams in the right arm.

Williams was taken by ambulance to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, where his condition was not immediately available.

It is expected that Williams will be charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Lui said.
