A Ludowici man has been charged with burglary in connection with a Sept. 30 report.

The Long County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the Burnt Pines Subdivision. Deputies with descriptions of the vehicle and suspect, which were provided to Long County / Wiregrass 911 by a witness.

They searched the area, and Deputy Derek Howard saw the vehicle in a mobile home park on Lee Place Road. As he approached the driver took off, but crashed into a mobile home.

The suspect escaped on foot. During the follow-on investigation, the suspect was identified, and an arrest warrant was issued. Isaac Cummings III, 24, of a Ludowici has been arrested and charged with burglary. Additional warrants for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon are expected to be issued. All the stolen property was recovered in the vehicle which crashed, police report.
