The hunt for a man who reportedly was linked to several stolen cars in the area came to an end this week in Florida, according to Long County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Tom Sollosi.
Long County resident Timmy Wallace Stafford, 47, was captured by the Brevard and Volusia County sheriff’s offices on Thursday after he reportedly led authorities on a multi-county car chase that involved several law-enforcement units, including a helicopter.
Sollosi said that according to reports, Stafford was detained only after the law enforcement units deployed stop sticks. The man then allegedly ran off on foot but was detained by the authorities. Stafford is a suspect in several thefts in Long, Liberty and Tattnall counties.
