Pembroke Police are asking for help finding a 26-year-old man, who they consider armed and dangerous, in connection with a stabbing during an argument over a basketball game.

PPD Investigator Kelly Price reported that about 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Rodney Mutcherson, 21, and Henry Gaines, 26, were playing basketball on a court off McFadden Street in Pembroke. They got into an argument, Gaines reportedly left the area, but returned with butcher knife. He allegedly stabbed Mutcherson several times.

Police were called and officers were told that Gaines left the area in a dark colored vehicle. Mutcherson was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, where he was treated for his wounds. His condition was not available.

Price said Gaines is considered armed and dangerous. Gaines is also believed to have stolen a vehicle in rural Bryan County Thursday morning and could be headed toward Savannah.

Investigators are asking for anyone with information about the crime or Gaines' whereabouts to call PPD at 912-653-4414 or Crime Stoppers.
