The back tires of a school bus from Joseph Martin Elementary School, carrying students slid into a ditch Tuesday afternoon.

Jocelyn Chapman, routing supervisor of the school system’s transportation department said it happened while the bus driver was turning the bus around and the rear of the bus slid into a soft area.

Chapman said it was not an accident and it happened on Mount Olivet Church Road in Fleming.

According to Liberty County EMA Director Mike Hodges, there were no injuries reported and other buses were called in to transport the children.
