Busing tables for Red Cross

Poole's Deli won't have its normal lunch rush on Friday.
From 11 a.m.-2 p.m., a group of volunteers will be carrying lunch trays, refilling beverages and clearing tables at the popular lunch spot.  The volunteers will be asking for contributions to the American Red Cross.
The bus team slated for the event includes James Rogers, Melissa Deal, Amy Nutting, Trevor Sikes, Jason Floyd, Kim Sills, Slade Sikes, Isabel Hernandez and Josh Wheeler.
The Red Cross and organizers are in the midst of a county-wide campaign for local disaster relief.  All funds raised will stay in Liberty County to assist local efforts after disasters.  The majority of these disasters in Liberty County are home fires.  Red Cross provides assistance with food, clothing, shelter, and counseling to victims of disaster.
"The Red Cross is here to help Liberty County families after a house fire.  But for them to continue to help, we have to assist them in raising money," Deal, fundraising committee co-chairman, said.  "We have set a county-wide goal of $7,500 and are excited about our event at Poole's."
Deal's co-chairman Wheeler added, "Our volunteers are ready to do whatever it takes to make Poole's customers happy and want to tip us.  Susan McCorkle and her great staff at Poole's will feed them, and we'll take care of them."
Poole's is at 406 South Main Street in Hinesville.  Call Wheeler at 912-408-6120 for more information.
