Car, motor-grader collide in Long County

LUDOWICI -- A small car collided with a Long County motor-grader Monday on Highway 84,. The only injuries reported were minor.
According to Georgia State Patrol, SFC, T.L. King, Caitlin Bell, 22, was driving south toward Ludowici when her Ford ZX-2 ran into the rear end of the grader, which was being driven in the same direction.
King reported that the incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. He arrived at the scene about five minutes later.
According to the trooper, both vehicles were in the right hand lane, and Bell told him she dropped her purse and reached to retrieve it. When she looked up, the grader was in front of her, and she ran into the rear-end of it.
The trooper said the airbags in the Ford deployed, and that Bell had minor injuries.  Liberty Regional EMS was dispatched, but Bell said her parents would take her for treatment.
The grader driver, Martin Lynn, 38, was shaken up by the incident, but had no apparent injuries.
According to the trooper, charges of following too close to a moving vehicle are pending against Bell.
Both drivers live in Long County.
Other units responded to the call were the Long County Sheriffís Department and the Ludowici/Long County Fire Department.
