Liberty County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a Sunday night stabbing in Flemington.

Detective Tracy Jennings said a man went to meet his ex-girlfriend at Liberty County High School on Highway 84 when he reportedly was assaulted and stabbed by several people.

The man managed to get in his car and drive two and a half miles to Waffle House on East Oglethorpe Highway, where he collapsed in the parking lot.

Police and first responders then were called to the scene.

Jennings said the man had been stabbed multiple times. He was taken by helicopter to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. His condition is not known at this time.
