Domestic dispute ends in stabbing

A domestic dispute early Thursday morning ended in a stabbing.

According to Walthourville Police Chief Bernie Quarterman the stabbing was the result of an altercation between a married couple in the 500 block of Salette Street in Walthourville.

When Quarterman arrived shortly after 7 a.m. at the residence he found Chontey Quarterman suffering from a stab wound to her lower left shoulder.

Quarterman said Chontey Quarteman and her spouse, Katrice Quarterman, had been arguing over the phone during the evening. When Chontey Quarterman arrived home shortly before 7 a.m. the verbal argument escalated into a physical confrontation.

Chontey Quarteman told the officer she went outside to remover the license plate from the couples vehicle when Katrice Quarteman charged at her stabbing her once.

Chontey Quarterman was treated on the scene by emergency medical personnel.

Katrice Quarterman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
