This vehicle caught fire Dec. 6 after someone using a burn barrel failed to properly extinguish the fire.

Hinesville Fire Department reported the fire spread along the fence line and eventually ignited a vehicle and surrounding brush.

During this windy and dry season, officials say it is very important to know the proper methods of conducting a controlled burn and noted burn permits are required.
