ATLANTA — The FBI has asked for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the person or people responsible for the Aug. 7 armed robbery of The Heritage Bank in Midway, according to Special Agent in Charge Mark F. Giuliano.
At about 3:20 p.m. Aug. 7, a lone black male brandishing a black semi-automatic handgun entered the bank at 248 Butler Ave and announced his intention to rob it. The suspect, carrying a white or light-tan canvas bag, obtained an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank without further incident, possibly in a gray Ford Crown Victoria.
The suspect is estimated to be between 25 and 35 years old, approximately 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 in height and of slender build. At the robbery, he was wearing a black v-neck shirt, light-blue baseball hat, a black partial face mask and baby blue ankle-high athletic shoes.
In conjunction with the bank’s surveillance photos of the suspect, the FBI is releasing surveillance photos of another person of interest who possibly is connected to the robbery. Earlier on the day of the robbery, an unknown black male wearing a white tank top and a wool Atlanta Braves cap came to the bank’s teller counter and was seen approximately one hour before the robbery at the neighboring IGA grocery store.
Anyone with information on the robbery or these individuals should call Crime Stoppers Savannah at 912-234-2020 or the Atlanta office FBI at 404-679-9000 or email Atlanta@ic.fbi.gov.
