A home in the 700 block of Leroy Coffer Highway in the Fleming community was destroyed by fire Wednesday afternoon.
Robert Clark, whose brother, Neil Clark, shares the home with his wife, Donna, and their two children, said the fire started around
2 p.m. When Robert Clark arrived on scene, he said smoke and flames were billowing through the home’s second-story windows. The structure sustained fire damage throughout the second floor and water damage on the first floor. Robert Clark said it took firefighters several hours to get the blaze under control because it reached places in the attic that were inaccessible to them.
No one was home when the fire broke out, and Robert Clark said relatives will house his brother’s family.
