Freezing rain possible in area tonight

The National Weather Service has given parts of Liberty County a chance that freezing rain will fall tonight.

Mike Hodges, director of the Liberty County Emergency Management Agency said the service's Charleston office put part of the county in a freezing rain advisory.

"National Weather tells me that this is a very small chance, however it is a chance," Hodges said. "Please remain aware of the conditions while driving or spending time outside."

While much of the Southeast is getting socked in by a winter storm, conditions in Coastal Georgia have been chilly and wet, but not freezing. The lows tonight are forecast to be in the mid to upper 30s in our area.

Temperatures are expected to climb into the 50s Thursday, as the storm moves up the coast.
