Authorities reportedly believe a Pembroke man has been murdered.

The body of James Young, 66, of 166 Rogers Road, was discovered Monday after Pembroke police were asked to do a welfare check at the address. Officer Greg Atwood responded around 7:30 a.m.

“I arrived, identified myself as police but received no response. When I entered, the resident was not alive,” Atwood said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Pembroke police are investigating. No further details have been released.
