A boy reported missing Saturday evening has been located and is currently with his mother, heading back home to Louisiana, Hinesville police Officer Patrick Cochrane said Monday morning.

Ernest Charles Williams III, 12, had been reported missing around 5:30 p.m. Saturday after he was last seen in the Wood Ridge Mobile Home Park off Airport Road.

Cochrane said the boy was staying at his father’s home, but the father and son had a small argument, and a discussion ensued about the boy going back home to his mother in Louisiana.

Cochrane said he later went to the home and heard that a telephone conversation with the boy’s grandmother revealed he was with his mother in Florida, and they were headed home to Louisiana sometime Monday. The mother has legal guardian rights to the child, Cochrane said.
