Hinesville police: Women scuffle with officers after vehicle strikes motorcycle

A motorcycle rider was injured in Hinesville Sunday night after colliding with a car.

Hinesville Police Department Sgt. Mike Gosseck said the woman who was driving the vehicle struck the motorcycle in front of the McDonald’s on E.G. Miles Parkway. 

After the vehicle struck the motorcycle, the woman and her passenger ran onto McDowell Street, where they were found hiding in a backyard.  

The women scuffled with the arresting officers, Gosseck said.

Once detained, the woman identified as the driver of the vehicle was placed into a patrol car, where she later kicked out a back window, Gosseck said.

A search of the vehicle resulted in a firearm that had been reported stolen being recovered and what appeared to be a felony amount of marijuana was found in the the driver’s purse, Gosseck said

Both women were arrested. 

The motorcyclist was taken to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
