The person who told police he wanted to take a nap under a tractor-trailer, and was subsequently run over, has died.

Police identified him as Kevin Ansley, 17, of Hinesville.

Ansley was run over by a tractor-trailer whose driver was delivering food Monday morning to Chris's Curbside Grill on Hollywood Drive, police said.

Hinesville Police Department Traffic Accident Investigator Richard Boucher said Ansley was found lying, injured, in the parking lot by a passerby who called 911. When Officer Pat Cochran arrived, he spoke with Ansley, who told Cochran he was attempting to take a nap under the truck when he was run over.  The driver of the big rig was unaware he had run over Ansley and continued to make his rounds.

When notified of what had happened, the driver returned to the scene of the accident from Richmond Hill, Traffic Accident Investigator Lt. Bill Kirkendall said MOnday.

Boucher said the driver will not face any charges.

Ansley was transported to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah by Air Evac with trauma to his torso area. He died Monday afternoon, police said.
