A complainant reported turning off water services for a resident who had not paid his bill for several months. The resident then reportedly cut the lock and restored water service to his home. Deputies advised the complainant of warrant procedures.

Pointing a gun at one another
Feb. 2, 2007
Holmestown Loop Road, Midway

Deputies were dispatched to the area of Holmestown Loop Road in reference to an altercation in which one of the parties involved pulled out a gun and pointed it at another person. The complainant stated about five people were involved in the altercation, and one of the men pointed a handgun at him and acted as though he was going to load a round in the chamber. The suspect was a passenger in a brown Buick Regal with 18-inch chrome wheels. The complainant was advised about warrant procedures.

DUI/endangering a child

Highway 84, Hinesville

Deputies spotted a vehicle that was broadcasted under a BOLO, and conducted a traffic stop. While being questioned, the driver stated he had a drink earlier in the day. Test results turned out positive. The subject was arrested and his juvenile daughter, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was released to family members. Later tests done with the intoxilizer indicated a reading of .112 and the driver was issued for DUI and endangering a child under the age of 14.

Obstruction
Feb. 4, 2007
Sequoia Circle, Hinesville

While a deputy was arresting a young man on charges of speeding and driving with a suspended registration, man in a white mini-van pulled along the deputy’s patrol car and yelled out “What are you arresting my son for?” The man was asked to leave the scene, but he continued to argue with the deputy. The deputy called for back up and asked the man to leave again, but he continued to be belligerent and was arrested. The man’s vehicle was released to his wife and he was charged with obstruction of an officer.

Accidental discharge of weapon

A deputy responded to a call regarding the discharge of a firearm. Upon arrival, he spoke with the complainant who stated he was cleaning his gun and it discharged. The bullet went through the living room wall, bedroom wall, and out of the trailer toward the direction of L.A. Estates.

Accidental damage

Talmadge Road, Walthourville

Deputies responded to a report of damage to a residence. A driver of a truck was heading south on highway 119 when the left front tire separated at the wheel bearing. The wheel assembly, including, the tire rim and brake drum, traveled across the northbound lane and struck the front porch and front wall of a residence. No injuries were reported but the house was damaged.
